Price drop sourcing is the online arbitrage method where you buy for Amazon FBA the moment a retailer’s price falls hard and fast. That fall is either a planned markdown or a mistake, and it suits people who can check a deal and reach checkout inside minutes.

The method, step by step

  1. Get set up before any drop lands. Accounts registered at the retailers that drop prices often, payment saved, address in. Keep a slice of float ready and unspent, because the deal will not wait for a bank transfer to clear.
  2. Watch for 50% off or more. A 20% sale is noise, deep cuts are where a retail price starts beating Amazon after fees. A code on top of a real drop turns marginal into proper, which is why voucher stacking pairs well with this.
  3. Decide markdown or glitch. A markdown takes £30 to £15, gets honoured, and works like clearance sourcing with depth behind it. A glitch takes £30 to £1.49, and glitch orders can be cancelled before dispatch.
  4. Check the numbers, not the title. I match the barcode in SellerAmp and read the profit after fees and the sales rate.
  5. Buy a sensible quantity, fast. Size the order so a cancellation costs you nothing but a few days of float. If the cancelled version of events would hurt you, the order was too big.
  6. Sell into the rebound. On a glitch the retail price corrects within hours, on a markdown when the promotion ends. Either way your stock carries the margin against the recovered price.

Before you buy

  • Barcode match, never title match.
  • 20% ROI after every fee, or leave it.
  • Judge the data, not the product.
  • Never count a glitch order as stock until it arrives.
  • A drop everybody saw is worth less than a drop a few saw.

You need monitors for this

Nobody catches these drops by refreshing pages. You need monitors, and our members get one for every major UK store, pushing alerts like these day and night.

WATCH OUT

A lot of glitch orders get cancelled. Most retailers’ terms let them cancel an obvious pricing error, and plenty do, so the money comes back as days of dead float. Take the refund gracefully, some drops simply die, and no method here is a promise of income.

I keep the retailers worth watching on the live websites board, updated as they change. If you’d rather talk it through before spending anything, book a free call, no pressure on it.
